Drive-thru Difference Day - December 5!

Hey! This Friday it’s Drive-Thru Difference Day again!

This is another chance for the listeners of KTIS to do one big act of kindness across the Twin Cities.

Here’s what you need to do…

  1. Download and Print THIS PAGE (pdf)
  2. Go thru your favorite fast-food or coffee shop drive thru and place your order.
  3. When you get to the window to pay, offer to pay for the person behind you (they will have probably placed their order already).
  4. Leave the flyer to let them know what they have been a part of!
  5. Come back here and use the comments field of this post to tell us your story!

Still a bit confused?

We tried it with KTIS Artist Brandon Heath. Allow him to demonstrate!

As I drove away I said a quick prayer for the women who recieved the coffee.
Lord I ask that you lift her up today and take all that is troubling her and all her burdens away,

I realized that is what I needed today and it was prefect. The Lord works wonders.
Thanks and God Bless

This morning I decided to do my own “drive through difference” and buy Caribou for my co-workers. When I got to the window to pay I learned the car in front of me had paid for me! What a blessing to be blessed when I am trying to bless someone else! Thanks to the stranger at the Plymouth Caribou - you made me and my co-workers very happy people!

Thank you to the gentleman that bought my coffee at Caribou in Deephaven this morning! I hope the cars behind me kept the chain going.

What a great way to spread Christ’s love!

Hi and blessings to you all

Just a quick note to let you know how blessed I was to pay for 3 customers coffee’s at our local Caribou . I actually did it yesterday 12-4. I was on my way to the Marie Sandvik center in Mpls, a 2 hr drive I make once a week to serve on ladies day. Where the woman receive a sermon, lunch and some basic needs such as clothing, winter apparel, groceries…

Being the ever so impatient person that I have been known to be, the drive at times can be the most challenging part of my day of service. People driving to slow, people swapping lanes…back and forth trying to figure out where they want to be..( you get the point).
So, I stop at Caribou to order my much needed extra caffeinated drink of chocolate bliss :) And yes sadly so, some “patience” in a cup..

As I was sitting at the pick up window, listening to KTIS singing along to the songs, knowing that I wasn’t going to be out and about on Friday
I decided that I would do it then…yes on a Thursday !!! :) I proceed to the pick up window, and look in my rear view mirror and see that it is a younger man driving a Mercedes. I have to admit at first I thought…Heck he must have enough money…he doesn’t need this. !!! WHAT !!! I know…what was I thinking. Everyone needs blessings and kindness. So I proceed to pay…and I have to admit feeling a tad guilty for even thinking such a ridiculous thought I pay for the lady/man in the car behind him as well…Well, by the time that I was handed my extra caffeinated chocolate bliss there was a 3rd car in line…immediately reverting back to kindergarten…” Don’t bring it unless you have enough for the whole class”…..I purchase that vehicles drink as well.

Now, I didn’t have any KTIS “letters” with me…so I just left a verbal message for the 3 cars behind me, basically saying pass it on and Jesus Loves yous !!!
I have now printed out 10 or more letters and they will just be there, in my car for when I need them.

Now, onto my blessings for being part of a random act of kindness…STRESS FREE Drive…and that is HUGE :)

I proceeded onto the center, served, fellowshiped, prayed, and had a God Inspired Blessed day…So thank you to the 3 cars behind me, at the local Red Wing Caribou…I was blessed to have hopefully made you pause, and smile. For it made me step back and do the same…

God’s Abundant blessings to you all
Cat…Wabasha Mn

Thanks to the person in the silver van that bought my breakfast this morning at the Burger King in Ramsey. What a great reminder of God’s love & care for us! Often when we are busy caring for the needs of others, it’s nice to know that we are being cared for, too.

I want to say thank you to the woman who purchased my coffee at Caribou in Mendota Heights this morning! It was such an unexpected surprise and such a positive start to my day. You inspired me to pay for the person’s coffee behind me! It felt so good to spread the kindness around! I went to work and told a coworker about this kind woman’s generosity and she told me about the Drive-Thru Difference. I can’t wait to do this for someone else so they can feel as good as me!

While sitting in the long drive-through line at Taco John’s in Princeton, no one was pulling up behind me so I got a little worried that I would have no one to bless…so I prayed that God would send the “right person.” Sure enough, within a minute a man pulled in behind me. When I handed the cashier the note, she was moved to tears! What a joy to know that the Drive-Through Difference blesses not only the person behind you in line, but also the store employees!

Thank you to the person who paid for my lunch at Taco Bell in Lakeville, it really shows you God uses people to touch others and God can use me too. Again thank you for reminding me of what Christ is all about.

Thank you to the person that paid for my breakfast this frigid early morning at the Burnsville Burger King. It really couldn’t have come at a better time being I had spent the last two nights in the hospital with my ill mother. It made the end of the week all the better since she is doing great now and finally back at home.

Although I am not a believer in God, I will continue this later today when I myself will forward this gift onto someone else. Best wishes to you and yours. Farewell my unforeseen friend.

I wanted to thank the person who bought my coffee and muffin at Cravings in White Bear Lake on Monday. This simple act provided such a sense of calm and time of reflection on my way to work. Usually the drive to work is just a blur with worry about the stresses of my job. Friday’s drive was completely different.
Thank you - that time of peace was much needed - seeing that I ended up putting in a 14 hour day yesterday.

I look forward to passing this great gift on to someone else.

I have done this at McDonald’s before…bought lunch for the person behind me. Never thought to leave a note though, so cool! I’m totally going to do it again, and leave the KTIS note - even though I live in PA. Maybe ya’ll will hear from someone in line behind me!

I would love to thank the person who paid for my family’s dinner friday night at the Burger King in Forest Lake. What a great thing to do for someone. It brought tears to my eyes to know that someone would do such a nice thing. It made my day. God bless all the people that make a difference.

I hadn’t heard of the “drive thru difference” before today. I feel blessed to have been a recipient of such a wonderul act of kindness especially after my freshly brewed cup of hommade coffee was left at home on the counter. Thank you to the woman in the white mini-van at the Caribou in Shakopee. You made my day more than you’ll ever know! The smile on my face is as big now at 4:30 as it was at 7:55 this morning. Not only did you put a smile on my face, but you put a smile on the face of everyone that I shared the story with today (including the 950 kids I work with). The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Shakopee.

First of all, I would like to thank KTIS for being on the air. I have been listening to you for about 6 years now and my life has been blessed much with your words and music. Many people have blessed me in my life change.I thank our Lord for the blessing to bless someone else through the drive through difference. I go through Hardees in Mora, MN regularly for breakfast and have received many shocked looks form the car or truck behind me. I never seem to have letter to leave but the gals at Hardees know exactly what to say. I am glad to report that I have finally figured out the internet so I now have letters printed to give away.
Again, You all have blessed this gal in many ways. Keep up the good work. Much love Della

Greeting to you all.

I’m a 2nd generation listener of ktis. This station has been a resource of growth and encouragement for my family and I over the years. Thank you for doing your part in the work of the Kingdom.
Now, speaking honestly, I’m not into what sometimes feels to me like hype, regarding the drive through difference. And though I say this, I sincerely do believe it encourages others. When I hear what seems like hype to me, I change radio stations. But thats just me.
Now then; Similar to how Giving breaks the power of possession over an individual, I have decided to participate in the drive through difference. Maybe as I do this, it wont feel like a radio station promtion when I do hear the drive through difference campaign.
Blessings on each of you, behind the mike and behind the scenes, who are doing the work of God.

In Christ; Bill Welch.

Went to the Starbuck’s in Roseville around 7:30 this morning. In the past I have participated in the Drive Thru difference by paying for those behind me, but I totally forgot that today was the day for it. I went to pay for my drink and was told that it was paid for….what a huge blessing! Thank-you so much for whoever paid for me! Anna Carlson

Today, my 4 year old son had preschool and after he got out he asked if we could get McDonald’s. Since I didn’t really mind not cooking, I told him okay as long as I can go somewhere else, I am getting sick of McDonalds.

So, I thought Arbys would be good, so I go through the drive through at Arby’s in Eagan and as I pull up to pay, the cashier told me that the car in front paid for my meal. I thought that was so nice and sweet - and couldn’t believe this act of kindness. Read on…it doesn’t end here.

Well, then I proceed to go to McDonalds on Diffley in Eagan (5 miles away) to get the kids their meals and again go through the drive through and as I pull up to pay, the lady told me that the car in front paid for my meal. So words of wisdom, if you go through the drive through and have extra cash to spare, pay for the person behind you…it really means a lot! Thank you for both people who paid for my our lunch today.

I’m convinced the drive thru difference encourages the employee as well as the person getting their items paid for! I went through at a time when there was no line so I told the teenage girl I would wait until the next person came. This gave the two of us an opportunity to talk abit…I told her I didn’t think it was a coincidence who would be coming next, that they were hand picked and probably needed encouraging today. She said she had never had anyone willing to wait for a car to come. I think it’s great for young people to witness good things happening in our world too. It gives them hope and an example to follow after. It really is more blessed to give than to receive. Thanks KTIS for this opportunity to sow God’s love to others!

On Saturday 1/10/09 I was driving back from my Aunts funeral when I decided to get a little comfort food from a fast food place on Robertson Blvd, called ‘Checkers’. I pulled into the drive thru, ordered up something and moved forward in line. I started to dig in my purse for the cash to pay for my meal when I realized I had already used the $20 bill I ‘thought’ I had in my purse on gas the day before - I was frantically searching for change all over the front seat of my car when I pulled up to the window thinking I was going to have to face the embaresment of telling the gal at the window that I did not have enough money to pay for my order. When I opened my mouth to start to to tell her, she spoke first saying “The person in front of you just paid for your meal and asked me to give you this note”. I was absolutely surprised and delighted. What a very nice pick me up to a sad day. Thank you all who are praciticing these random acts of kindness. I do them all the time at my shop Benevolent Acorn, but somehow I never expected anyone would do so for me. The timing was clearly an act of devine intervention. We are all so connected - we just have to believe a little.

Keep going all!

J.

Thank you!

Jan.

I received a latte at Caribou today in Plymouth around 10:00 am. I know this is usually done on Friday’s, so it caught me off guard. It was just what I needed. We just came back from a week visit in California. Although I was not looking forward to the cold weather, I was ready to be back home. Its such a busy place out there that people only seem to care about themselves and I only seem to hear the swear words that stung my ears and heart. And just having this person buy my coffee reinforce me that I was home and there are good people here in Minnesota. That’s why we live here. So glad to be home and to be able to listen to Ktis every morning and evening.
