Dave Clutter in Guatemala for Compassion Intl.

This week I’m joined by KTIS Station Manager David Fitts in Guatemala.  As KTIS prepares for our Days of Compassion event May 14th and 15th, we’re bringing home stories and images of Guatemalan Compassion International kids.

Among the Compassion Projects we visited this week, we were welcomed by Club Los Ninos Del Carpinteto, (Children of the Carpenter), just outside Guatemala City.  In fact the kids you see, have just been selected specifically for sponsorship for the upcoming Days of Compassion.  More child sponsorship information is available at: http://www.compassion.com/sponsor_a_child/default.htm?referer=ktis-90463

You can also sponsor a child through Compassion International at: 1-877-491-3500.  I’m excited to share our Guatemala stories next week, and excited to see God’s hand continue to work through Compassion International, changing the lives of kids all over the world!

I sponsor a child (Genesis) from Guatemala through Compassion International. It is a great experience and I hope you have had a chance to meet her. Someday I would like to attend a mission trip to Guatemala and hope to have a chance to meet her. This is an incredible experience!

Hey Dave,

It’s been so great hearing your reports on the morning show. What an awesome trip, can’t wait to hear all about it when you get back. It really brings home what Compassion International is all about. Looking forward to the KTIS Days of Compassion next WED and TH on KTIS.

Hi Ktis!!

it is great for me to hear this kind of news. I want to say something about the Name of Club in Guatemala, is it not Niños del Carpintero? instead of Carpinteto?

God Bless you KTIS!!

YOur outreach to children in Guatemala through Compassion International is extra special to my familiy and me. My niece, Katie Pritchard, just flew out of MSP International Airport this MORNING for Guatemala. Please pray for Katie’s safety as she moves to Guatemala City for her long-range future.

She is so excited to meet her boyfriend again. The last time she’s been able to hug him in Minneapolis was last November. They hope to be married in July or August there. Luis was deported back to Guatemala in March from MN. Luis was arrested last Nov. 2007 when leaving their apoartment in Mpls. A former landlord in St. Louis Park called Police because that person felt Luis was an illegal immigrant. Luis was been in a MN Jail for 4-5 months, then deported back to his home country of Guatemala. Their attorney that Katie’s brother paid, was unable to keep Luis in America, due to prior history. My sister and husband, my parents, Katie’s two brothers, and all of us Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, and friends are so concerned, sad, and filled with dispair as Katie left this morning to a new life in another country. Katie is 22 years, a graduate of Univ. of MN, Twin Cities, two years ago this month, and has decided to share her life with someone that none of us know very well.

May God show Katie her direction in life with God’s guidance and His will for her life. God is alive in Katie’s heart and her faith has been tested recently in the last year as her decision has been made. May God use Katie as a testimony of His Love and Grace and Let the Light So Shine as a new chapter in her life begins.

Thank you for your awesome Christian ministry by radio and website and Compassion International. Please reassure me that your KTIS Ministry Team will pray for my precious niece, Katie Sue. May God’s light shine for you as you minister to children and adults alike by your airwaves and website. Jesus is the Answer and the Way, as your radio song is stating right now. God bless you all.

In Christ’s Love, Shalom,

Mrs. Sharon Rath
