Please consider reading this awesome book that has been out for some time. “A Joy I’d Never Known” by Jan Dravecky is a true story of her comeback from her crippling clinical depression. The book talks about how God prepared her famous husband, Dave, and herself for their ministry to the hurting by sharing their stories of struggles and triumphs. I could identify with similar experiences while surviving cancer for ten years now and other difficult struggles that I faced.

Thanks, PK, for all of your online and on the radio evening discussions of outstanding books to consider reading. All of us have different journeys in life. Take care. God bless your family. Peace.

The Redemption Series by Karen Kingsbury

I read this whole series and it truly changed my life–it is about a family, the Baxter’s and deals with real family issues in relationships, the joys, sorrows and struggles that we all deal with but how God through his mercy, grace and love can change us. I highly recommend this series:
Book 1: Redemption
2: Remember
3: Return
4: Rejoice
5: Reunion
I have passed on to my family and friends and KTIS is my family too…Thank you for your station!
Sincerely in Christ,

Hi, I have been very blessed to read 2 series of novels written by Brock and Bodie Thoene - The A.D Chronicles and Zion Legacy. What I have thoroughly enjoyed about these books is that they describe Jesus’ life and what was happening around him through the eyes of others living around him. These books have made me think more about what it must have been like to live during the time when Jesus was alive on earth, to learn about the cultural and political environment at that time as well as help me understand how people could have such different reactions to Jesus. The A.D Chronicles especially helped me understand better that Jesus did fulfill the prophecies of the old testament. I have loved these books because they have helped me understand Jesus on a deeper level and have made me dig into Scripture to see if the details included in the books are Scripturally based. I have loved them! Check them out!

I do want to add the book “Hope Rising” by Kim Meeder.
Stories From The Ranch of Rescued Dreams. It was heard on the Focus on the Family radio show and that is where I learned of this extraordinary family and what they have done to help abused kids and horses too.

Information taken from the Book to describe it and after you read it God will have touched your heart through the many stories in the book.

Kim Meeder and her husband Troy own and operate this nonprofit organiastion that helps rescuse abused and neglected horses and pairs them up with disavantaged children, offering children a safe place of peace and hope.

It’s many stories of kids who have been abused and no where to turn for hope and peace but this husband and wife team did it for them and the horses too.

I and another lady did a paper on it for our business class at Century college, It impacted my life, that no matter what has happened God can take any set of circumstances and turn it into joy. Be sure to have a box of kleenex when you read it. You will cry with the children as they go through their horriffic circumstances and cry with joy because they were able to overcome the impossible with the horses since they were abused too but always remembering NOTHING IS IMPPOSSIBLE WITH GOD! and this book from beginning to end is God at work.
Thank you for allowing me to share this book with you and your listening audience.

A book that has made a HUGE impact on my life is Holy Yoga:Exercise for the Christian Body and Soul by Brooke Boon. Ok, I know Christian Yoga….is a very controversial topic. However, the book Holy Yoga puts it all into perspective. Through this book, I discovered that each movement I make with my body can honor my Lord and Savior Jesus. This book impacted me so much that I am now a Holy Yoga Instructor. Each week I ministry to the minds, hearts, and bodies of 20-30 people as we worship God through physical movement. There can be no greater gift than this.

The movie that was most influential to me was a 1950 MGM film called “THE NEXT VOICE YOU HEAR” with James Whitmore and Nancy{Reagan}Davis. It follows a young family as back then the main form of entertainment was the radio in the evenings; and how GOD revealed Himself by a means of a voice over the radio airwaves at 8:30pm each evening for six days to all mankind in all languages throughout the world and how He reprimanded mankind’s lack of love for one another and trying to create our own little miracles of loving our neighbour as ourselves, being graceful and forgiving to one another.

Hi,
The End Of The Spear was powerful. The spirit spoke to my heart about “It’s not about ME” Their whole family gave their lives, their dads, to share God’s love. It made me realize what we can affect by touching the next generation. I gave up going to church early and picking up 4 former students… Getting up early…calling 4 homes on the north side to see if the girls were going…leaving at 9 to 930 to drive to all the homes and picking them all up to get to church by 1045… then driving them home or for a picnic or meal. They all gave their hearts to the Lord last year. We truly need to share God’s love with more people. Thanks for the invite to share.

The other one was the movie about the football team in GA…and all the struggles with the coach and kids at the school. I have watched it 3 times in a row…the faith and stamina of those who seeks God’s will. It was POWERFUL

Blessings to you and yours. Ann : )

I would have to say one of my favorite movies of all time is Fiddler on the Roof. The way Tevye talks to God all the time, every day about every big or little thing is just impressive and cool. It’s especially impressive when you consider it’s a secular movie! So many people think you have to be formal, or have a certain formula to talk to God, and here’s Tevye talking to him all the time. He just embodies the idea of praying without ceasing!
