Brennan, Josh - Letter to My Soldier
Posted in Soldier Letters on December 5th, 2007 No Comments »
Dear David and Pam,
Thank you so much for doing this Christmas wish to the soldiers song. There are so many brave men and women fighting and dying for our freedom and we need to honor them everyday, but especially at Christmas.
My family and I lost our hero a little over a month ago when he was killed by the Taliban in Afghanistan. I know this would mean so much to me and my family if we could honor him and send our Christmas wishes to him in this way.
Please find my letter below and again thank you so much for this opportunity!
In His Service,
Jessica
Our Dearest Joshua,
You were serving your second tour of duty in Afghanistan when the Lord called you home on October 26, 2007. At 22 years-old your life was only just beginning. You couldn’t wait to come home to us in May, go to college and work at the police department with you Dad.
This will be our first Christmas without you. But we take comfort in knowing you are safe in heaven away from all the suffering, pain and war.
You will forever be our hero our beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend. Enjoy your first Christmas in heaven!
Merry Christmas Josh. See you soon. Love you always.
Jessica
