Here are a few more pictures and some closing thoughts after my trip!

Now that I’ve been back in the U.S. a couple of days, I’m busy reflecting on what I saw and learned while I was there and it’s very difficult to explain in a brief way! I know that reading my Bible will be a very different experience as I can put places and culture to the words on the pages and it will be much more alive to me. I realized also that in my quest to read through the Bible in 2007 (more here and here) I was focusing more on staying with a dedicated schedule and was perhaps not reading as much as I need for actual content.

We discussed so many things pertaining to stories all through the Old Testament - some of which I had just read - and I couldn’t remember some of the basic facts. So….my word of encouragement to everyone trying to read through the Bible in 2007 is to not be driven by a set schedule if it means sacrificing having the scriptures sink into your head and your heart. Take your time, digest the words, and let the Lord speak to you through the process. I’m going to look through our 627 pictures and find my favorite pictures and pop them up on the blog in the next day or so.
