Newsboys Concert Photos
KTIS was pleased to welcome the Newsboys, with Kutless and Stellar Kart, to the US Bank Theater at Target Center last night!
Were you at the show? We would love to hear what you thought! Feel free to leave a comment on this blog post!
We had a chance to sit down with Paul Colman, before the show, and ask him some of the questions you submitted. We are working on that video, and hope to have it posted in the next day or two.
Here are a few photos from the event!

The Newsboys with some of the KTIS crew… (Why did I have to be the only one not wearing black)?

Peter spent a little time with the drums. The platform he was on was raised high above the crowd.

The set involved some pretty sweet camera work.

My hats are off to Dan and gang to bring the Newsboys back again.
The Target Center is great venue for concert.
This was our second Newsboys concert.Last one was at the Ex in St.Paul.We live in Big Lake,Elk River area.Last time we got out of parking ramp in about ten minutes and drove 45 miles home in good time.
Last night we were still in the parking ramp 70 minutes after we got in our car!We made mistake of parking on 5th floor.I don’t usually complain about things beyond my control but I think someone should inform the people that run the Minneapolis Ramp to have more than three attendants to let people out.Why don’t they take a lesson from St.Paul and collect the fee on the way in?
It’s a good thing I didn’t write this last night at 11:45PM when I finally got home.
I wiil think twice next time you schedule a concert at Target Center.
My vote is for the EX.

What a great concert! I got presale tickets before they went on sale, we were in the 8th row - my hair was even bouncing to that bass beat! Will definitely road trip to Willmar to see the Newsboys this summer - thank you KTIS for bringing them here.
And was stuck in the parking ramp also, and we parked on the 2nd floor! What was up with that?

Yeah, we got stuck in the same traffic too. That was a bit odd. I attend a lot of events at the Target Center, and it is usually a pre-pay situation in those ramps. I don’t think I have ever seen that ramp set up that way on a show/game night before. (and we were on the 6th Floor)
Hopefully that was just a minor annoyance to you, and didn’t put a major damper on the evening.
The concert itself was definitely world-class! Great idea about making the trip to Willmar and Sonshine this summer (AND… they don’t have any parking ramps!!)
See you there!

What an amazing night of praise and worship. If you were there, and didn’t feel the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit, we’ll pray for you. All three bands really know how to “rock” for the King. To God be the Glory. Thanks KTIS

What an amazing night of praise and worship. The Holy Spirit really touched my life last night and helped me donate the full $365 dollars. I was so glad to be able to meet the Newsboys last night it was just an amazing experience for me. God has really moved in me the past few weeks. Thank you so much for your time and I will keep praying for you guy at KTIS. May God bless you today and everyday.

This was the first Christian contemporary concert that my husband and I have ever attended. We were hard rockers in our day and I especially (by the grace of God) have come to really appreciate Christian rock. Hats off to Stellar Kart, Kutless and Newsboys!! All of them were awesome and incredible!! The life, energy and enthusiasm first for God and then for what they were doing was superb!!
Newsboys testimony, words of wisdom and prayer were fantastic as well in such a venue.
We loved it and can’t wait to attend another!!
Keep up the GREAT work, KTIS and Christian bands!!

My wife, two teenage daughters and two of their friends were in the third row next to the walkway from the stage! WOW! What a concert. You could really feel the Spirit moving in that place. All three bands got the Truth out and each brought a different way of doing it. If I wasn’t a beleiver when I walked in, I would have left as one.
This is our third Newsboys concert and we will continue to go everytime they come to the Cities. Thanks KTIS for bringing them here.

My 6 year old son and I were in the 7th row off to the left, great for viewing, but it was so loud, I couldn’t make out the words unless I knew the song. Woman next to us forgot her deodorant and kept dancing right in front of my little guy. I bit my tongue nearly off to keep from saying something to her. We were at the Go Fish concert and enjoyed it much more. I think it really depends on where you sit. I don’t think I would want tickets on the floor again unless they were directly in the center. Maranatha Hall and Grace Church has the Target Center beat! I work downtown, so I parked in my ramp and walked a few blocks in the rain, sounds like I made the right choice. It was moving to be with so many Christians.

It was awesome! I brought my 16 yr old son and 12 yr old daughter along with a friend of mine who volunteers at Lovelines. we had pretty good seats in the 2nd level off to the right. all 3 bands were great and moving. it was neat to see so many people bouncing and dancing, lifting hands and singing to the LORD. For me and my kids, it was like a living room experience because we play the Newsboys on our stereo so it was as if we were family already. Many times through out the concert it felt surreal to be amongst the band and brought tears of joy. I parked at the Startribune since i work there, so i didnt have any problems getting out of town. My daughter and friend had the chance to meet and great the Newsboys, so that is a memory to keep! It will be fun again for any Christian concert coming through to the Cities no matter what venue it is!! Thanks KTIS.

I went to the concert last night and this was my first concert i have ever been to and wow it was just amazing! The lights were just completly a awesome part of this concert and i loved the part how the confetii came out when they started it was just so cool! All three bands new how to rock that place out with the word of god!! I really loved having the newsboys here and now i can’t wait for the sonshine festival in the summer and that will be my first sonshine too! I also really liked the oldschool newsboys part that was really cool how the mic had that wierd effect on it! I also liked to hear all of the people in that place sing “He Reigns” and ” It is you”!! I actually have “It is you” as my ring tone on my cell phone! If I was to rate this concert 1-10 I would definitly say a 10!
I was also stuck in the parking ramp I was on level 5 but I didnt mind because i was just so happy to sing songs and praise our lord!!
Thanks KTIS for bringing the Newsboys here!!

I wouldn’t have missed that concert for the world. I especially LOVE Kutless I have seen them over a period of 4 years at Club 3 degrees when ever they have been in town. I had never seen the News Boys but man can they put on a show!!!! I Loved the drum dueling and enjoyed the “twirlling” drumer. How original.Missed Phil Joel though.
I’m 42 and I think I was bouncing around more than my 16 year old son and 9 year old daughter. Thanks for a great night! I didn’t have a problem getting home like some, I parked in a lot 2 blks away.We live in Isanti so was home by 10:30.
GLORY BE TO OUR GOD ALMIGHTY!!!!!!!! Glad He has great music to listian to.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen the Newsboys, first time for my husband. WE LOVED IT!! What God given talent all three band members have!
We especially enjoyed the ‘dueling drums’, although the music, lights, and words of praise were awesome.
We had never been to the Target center before (drove 70 miles to see the concert). We had an exceptionally quick exit from the parking ramp, but proceeded to get lost trying to get home. Only took about 1/2 hour to correct ourselves - we high-fived and laughed about it - the night was too good to ruin.

What a concert!! I don’t know of any other band that can put on a better shiow than the Newsboys. How can you not dance and sing along?! i was lucky enough to be in the 8th row right by the catwalk, and yes, i was the one who gave Peter Furler the Captin crunch box!! how cool was that?! Then, we later got Peter’s pick after he was done playing, he gave it to my brother!! it was definatly good to have the newsboys back in Minneapolis to lead us in some rick’n worship! Thanks again!

I agree - this was a terrific, awesome, Christ-filled night!! (But, I think I topped everyone, I was on the 7th floor and the last in line!! I got a kick out of the auto in front of me, the girls were doing a chinese firedrill for about 1/2 an hour!! Leave it to kids to find a way to amuse themselves!)
But seriously, many kudos to KTIS, Newsboys, Kutless and Stellar Kart! You sure know how to rock for the King! Now - let’s bring what we created at the Target Center to everyone we meet!!

I was one row up and a few over from Alli (7th row near the center walk) and it was my first time seeing all three bands live. I used to work in secular radio and would go to minimally 25-30 concerts a year as part of my job, but that night is definitely in my top 3. While its not all a perfect match to the CD I’ll take a live show over recorded music any day. You can really see the passion and connection everyone has when the music is played live in front of you and it makes it that much more moving and intense.

Thoroughly enjoyed The Newsboys concert, as always. We saw them the first time they were at sunshine and a few times, since and on a Mylon LeFevre video, where Mylon 1st introduced them. Looking at Mylon.Org website, the other night after the concert, came to find out that Peter is Mylon’s son-in-law, and there are many pitures on that website and a link to the Newsboys website. Very interesting, as we listened to and saw Mylon & Broken Heart many times in the 80’s and 90’s. We had not seen or heard Kutles before and that was also great, and Stellar Kart was good, not quite our style, but our son would’ve loved it. Great concert.

Honestly, this concert was on the greatest nights of my life! Through their lyrics, I’ve become so much closer to Jesus since that night. It was so much fun singing and dancing in the midst of the crowds. Most importantly though, we were all there for one same reason. We were there for Jesus!
