Second Israel Update from PK
Hello again from Israel!
Today was a beautiful day with pleasant temperatures and another full schedule of sightseeing. I awoke this morning to a very foggy morning where I couldn’t even see the Sea of Galilee from our window (unlike the previous day where we snapped a picture of the sunrise.)

After breakfast we drove to the ancient ruins of the city of Dan and saw an archeological dig in process and ruins of the city and particularly the temple. We also went to Caesarea Philippi where Jesus asked, “Peter, do you love me?” three times.

Later, we drove to the top of the Golan Heights and learned many fascinating facts from our tour guide Moshe who had actually fought and defended Israel in the 70s. Many remnants of the war were still evident such as tanks, bunkers, and wired-off minefields.

We concluded the day with a wonderful worship-filled baptism service at the Jordan River where about 125 of our Northwestern College and Radio friends chose to be baptized.

Tomorrow we are headed to Jerusalem and we will visit the Western (Wailing) Wall in the evening. Then several more days in Jerusalem and we’ll be hopping on that plane again for our 12-hour flight back home. Keep us in your prayers. We’re having a great time, lives and hearts are being touched by the Lord, and we are impressed at how we’ll never read the Bible the same way again.
Keep reading, everyone, and I’ll try to write again tomorrow. Blessings to you all!

I was in Israel six years ago. Our pastor told us that the Bible would become a “pop-up book” to us from then on, and he was right. Once a person visits the Holy Land, you never read the Bible the same way again. God bless you all!
