Reading update (with Peter Furler!)

So…reading through the Bible in a year. How is everyone doing? I must confess, I’m a little behind!. But here’s the important thing–keep reading!

Don’t get discouraged if you fall behind schedule, and definitely don’t give up. Remember, the point of all this is to get into the Word and make it a part of your daily routine somehow. Don’t get daunted by the pace and give up; stick with it and do what you can. Reading a little is far better than reading none! Participate in the conversation here on the blog and encourage (and be encouraged by!) others who haven’t quite stayed on schedule either.

For those of you who are latecomers, welcome! So what if you didn’t start in January? Pick a start date, choose a reading plan, and just change the daily dates to fit a twelve-month goal. Again, the important thing is to be reading the Bible. My producer Aaron and his wife didn’t get started until February. Don’t get drawn into the lie that reading through it in a year has to be done from January to December!

Earlier today I had the opportunity to talk with Peter Furler of the Newsboys. He had some great thoughts about the importance of staying in the Word of God. Listen to them here!

So…it doesn’t matter when you start(ed), or whether it will take you one year or two, the important thing is to see it through. Stay in the Word. Use the plan I link to on my page at KTIS.fm, or try this new one I just discovered. Then ask God to open your eyes and your heart to what He has to say to you each day through the reading of His Word. You’ll be amazed at what He reveals about Himself, about you, and about His will! Then be sure to stop back here and participate in the discussion about what you’re learning!

Happy reading,

PK
